Polyaspartic Floor Covering Process

• 1st – The concrete is prepped by grinding the top layer of the concrete with a multi-diamond blade grinder.

• 2nd – (Crack Fill) All the prior cracks in the concrete are ground out and filled with Poly Flex 93. This is a two part fast cure poly flexible polyurea designed specifically for control and expansion joint fill. This material is applied by overfilling the joint and allowing it to cure. Then the polyurea is shaved flush by the multi-diamond blade grinder after it has cured.

• 3rd – Polyurea is applied to the concrete. This is a two part bio-chemically modified silicate solution that provides waterproofing and durability benefits to the concrete. It penetrates into concrete and reacts with free calcium and water to form a calcium silicate gel complex in cracks, pores and capillaries. Polyurea penetrates the surface and chemically bonds with the concrete. This product is 98% more flexible then standard two part epoxies and will help prevent future hair line cracks.

• 4th – Decorative Chip is applied to give the overall finish its textured look. Several samples are available for different colored and textures. You can also choose between a ¼ inch Chip and the 1/16 inch Chip. Typically multi-colors are chosen to achieve a Granite look. The floor in completely Chipped, not just sporadically spread.

• 5th – The floor is scraped and cleaned of any loose chip material.

• 6th – The RG-80 (residential) or the PG-100 (commercial) top coat is applied. This is what gives the exterior of the entire product its strength and durability. This product has a maximum strength of (ASTM D412 6000) which is harder then actual concrete. This also gives the application a “Life Time Shine” You never have to wax or polish the top coat.
